A one-year 60 ECTS programme towards the degree of Dipl.Ed. is on offer and this also makes up the first year of masters level studies. A two-year programme towards an M.Ed. degree in Education is
also on offer for students who already hold a bachelor degree or equivalent as well as a teacher certificate. Furthermore, students can enter a two-year 120 ECTS research-based programme towards an
M.A. degree in Education.
Diploma Studies- Dipl. Ed. in Education – 60 ETCS
The Dipl.Ed. program is intended for those who have completed a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent degree, and have
a professional certificate in the areas of teaching, training, and care. The aim of the 60 ECTS Dipl.Ed. program is to educate students for such work in the school system that requires further
education in educational sciences, as well as to enhance their competence for studying more. The diploma program can be incorporated into the PGCE program, see in more detail in the regulation
241/2009, evalutation committee for pre-school, compulsory schools, and secondary school teachers.
Master of Education - M.Ed.-degree - 120 ECTS
The M.Ed. program is intended for those who have completed a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent degree, and have a
professional certificate in the areas of teaching, training, and care therapy or related fields. The aim of the program is to educate students for such work in the school system that requires further
education in educational sciences, as well as to enhance their competence for studying more. The maximum time is four years. If the student applies for doctoral studies he or she should get him- or
herself aquainted with the enrolment requirements of the university in question. A MA degree program is also offered.
Master of Education - MA-degree - 120 ECTS
The MA program is intended for those who have completed a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent degree and wish to increase their
work competence and specialised knowledge in educational sciences and obtain specialisation in educational research.
