Faculty Meeting
A faculty meeting is normally held four times during each school year and it exercises supreme authority in faculty matters. The faculty meeting is attended by all permanently employed faculty members, a representative of short –term teachers and two representatives of students.
Faculty Council
The faculty council normally convenes twice a month. It exercises i.a. the supreme faculty authority in interim periods between faculty meetings and it also deals with matters relating to individual students. The faculty council consists of the dean of the faculty, the alternate of the faculty dean, heads of the departments, the director of the centre of school development, the representatives of the teachers and two representatives of the students.
Meetings of the Pri-school and Primary and Lower Secondary School Departments
Meetings of the departments are normally held once a month. The meetings deal with daily issues concerning the study programme. The meetings are attended by the heads of the deparments, members of the academic teaching staff, the representative of short-term teachers and a representative of the students.
Study and Appraisal Committee of Pri-school and Primary and Lower Secondary School Departments
The committee consists of three representatives of teachers, elected at a meeting of the department, and one representative of students, who is also in attendance at meetings of the deparment. This committee is in charge of preparing changes in the structure of studies in the department and it deals with requests relating to requests for study appraisals, cf. rules on committees on study and appraisals in the faculty of education. It holds meetings when needed. Letters to it are to be submitted according to the rules on committees of study and appraisal.
Meetings of the Department of Graduate Studies in Education
Meetings are normally held once a month. The discussions there focus on daily matters of the department. The department meetings are attended by the head of the department, permanently appointed teachers in the department and two representatives of the students, on the one hand of those of the teaching programme relating to qualifications of teachers and on the other hand of those in the programme of diploma and master´s degree studies.
Committee on Studies and Appraisal of the Department of Graduate Studies in Education
The committee consists of three representatives of teachers, elected at a meeting of the department, and two representatives of students, the same as those who attend department meetings. The committee is in charge of preparing changes in the structural organization of studies in the programme and it deals with requests for study appraisals, cf. rules on the committee on study and appraisal in the faculty of education. Letters to the committee are to be prepared in accordance with the rules on study and appraisal committees.
Letters to the Faculty Administration
Letters to the administrative units of the faculty are to be received at least one week before the meeting by the faculty office or the director in charge (chairperson, director of the programme, chairperson of the committee on study and appraisal) dated, and signed.
