Educational studies to acquire certification to teach are intended for those who have completed university studies or art studies or have master´s licences in different trades etc. Its objective is to provide education in teaching and educational studies to those who have completed studies in their professional subjects of study.
The study programme consists of either 30 ECTS completed in the course of one year at university or 60 ECTS distributed over a two year period.
Upon completion of study, students apply for a licence to the Ministry of Education in accordance with applicable law and regulations at each time.
Admission Requirements
Enrollment of students and credit requirements are subject to the applicable law on the legal protection of professional titles and the certification to work of primary school teachers, secondary school teachers and school principals (Act of Law No. 86/1998).
Arrangements
The teaching is conducted in several local phases each semester but in other respects the studies are conducted on a distance learning basis. The course of study begins with introductory courses in group dynamics, academic work methodology, the use of the university information systems etc., and students are required to attend these courses. It is mandatory for students who are not employed as instructors in primary or secondary schools to engage in field studies or practice teaching.
Structure of Study
Educational studies for the purpose of obtaining teacher´s certification are structured in such a manner that the courses are arranged in a specific order and each student group admitted is expected to remain together as a unit in the courses that those concerned are required to take in order to obtain the legal protection required for the profession.
Bachelor Level Studies
This path of study at the bachelor level is intended for those who do not have a bachelor degree but still fulfill requirements for applying for a teaching license for primary and secondary school teaching if they have added a teacher certification program to their previous degree. This path of study is also open for those who have a bachelor or a higher degree. The path is either 30 ECTS completed in the course of one year at university or 60 ECTS distributed over a two year period (Table K1).

This path of study is only intended for those who have a bachelor degree, an equivalent degree, or a higher degree. The path is either 30 ECTS completed in the course of one year at university or 60 ECTS distributed over a two year period (Table K2).

Joint Teaching of Courses at the Bachelor and Diploma and Master Studies Levels
Courses at the bachelor level (with 1155-numbers) and the diploma and master studies level (with 0155-numbers) are for the most part taught jointly but the course requirements for students at the diploma and master studies level are higher in terms of readings, assignments and theoretical understanding.
