The School of Humanities and Social Sciences is divided into three faculties: Faculty of Education, Faculty of Law and Faculty of Social Sciences. The Centre for School Development at the University of Akureyri also belongs to the school. The main objective of this School is to offer a university education and to establish research in the humanities and social sciences, which includes Law and Education.
Entry requirement into study programs at the bachelor level is a matriculation examinatio from an Icelandic secondary school, or an equal examination. Entry requirements for study at the graduate level are set out in the description of each graduate programme.
