- A one-year 60 ECTS programme towards the degree of Dipl.Ed. is on offer and this also makes up the first year of masters level studies.
- A two-year programme towards an M.Ed. degree in Education is also on offer for students who already hold a bachelor degree or equivalent as well as a teacher certificate.
- Furthermore, students can enter a two-year 120 ECTS research-based programme towards an M.A. degree in Education.
- M.L. degree in law. The Faculty of Law at the University of Akureyri offers a two year programme of
law studies at the master’s degree level that concludes with a M.L. degree. More...

The University of Akureyri is offering the following studies in Polar Law: a 120 ECTS Master Programme leading to a M.A. degree; a 90 ECTS Master Programme leading to a LL.M. degree; a 60 ECTS study at the master level leading to a graduate diploma; a 60 ECTS study at the bachelor level leading to an undergraduate diploma; and individual courses in Polar law leading to a certificate.
