Specialized libraryThe University of Akureyri Library offers university employees, its students and others access to information sources concerning study, teaching and research. Emphasis is placed on offering access to a meticulous selection of databases and e-journals and constantly strengthen the library collection so that it will reflect the academic scope of the university. Substantial emphasis is placed on teaching and training students in information literacy, which is the capability that enables people to search for information, evaluate its quality and utilise it in their studies, teaching and research.

The University of Akureyri Library is located in the campus area at Sólborg in Norðurslóð and open to everyone. Library employees emphasise professional and specialised service to students, university staff and other library users. 

Office Hours
The library is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:00 - 16:00 hrs and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 - 18:00 in winter. In summer on the other hand the library is open every workday from 8:00 to 16:00 hrs.
