Service

ServicePersonnel of the University of Akureyri Library place emphasis on providing good service to students and ready access to various electronic databases and publications relating to the academic disciplines of the university. Library personnel offer advice and assistance in the search for information while also placing emphasis on teaching in information literacy.   

Information Services
Library and information specialists are on duty in the library office daily from 08:00 hrs until 16:00 hrs. to assist in the search for information and sources. Assistance consists primarily of giving information about the use of library options such as handbooks, reference material and databases and e-journal collections.

The educational material department provides information about curriculums and the acquisition of material. More detailed information about the department and its service can be obtained daily between the hours of 08:00 - 16:00 hrs, also by phoning 460 8055 / 460 8050, or by e-mail to: bsha@unak.is.

Teaching and training of students in information literacy and the use of databases and e-journal collections are conducted in specific courses selected in consultation with faculty staff. Academic staff and other university employees can also request presentations or short courses in individual databases and e-journal collections.
